Pauls Prayers (Simplified Version)

(Other Versions: Amplified, New King-James)

A complied prayer paraphrased based upon Paul’s prayers for the Ephesians, Colossians, and Philippians (Eph 1:15-23, Eph 3:13-21, Phipn 1:9-11; Col 1:9-12). Pray this prayer for yourself, your family, and your church.

Thank You Father for (Name) and for their faith in the Lord Jesus, and for their love for all Christians.  I ask that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto them/Name  wisdom, and insight to know You: Fill them/Name with supernatural insight into Your deep and intimate secrets, ways, and purposes.

Enable them/Name to understand and recognize spiritual things. Show them/Name the destiny and inheritance that You have invited for them to participate in, according to the promises written in Your Holy Word.

Do these things by the glorious, mighty power by the Holy Spirit who indwells them/Name, strengthening them in mind and body. Increase their knowledge of You, Lord God and enable them/Name also to joyfully and patiently endure circumstance, and exercise longsuffering and love towards people; By patient endurance and obedience to your Word may they/Name receive the expectation of their faith.

May Christ abide in them/Name by faith in Your Word; so that by becoming rooted and grounded in the Love of God then would fully develop in love and Christ-like character. May they/Name intimately know Your Love Father in all its dimensions.  May they/Name experience more of Your love beyond what they have known -Your spacious, outstretched, extensive, intense, consoling, and exalted love, so that they overflow with Your very presence, Father God.

By growing in discernment and insight, purify their/Name’s motives and will; that they would live in honor and moral excellence; with sincerity and without offense; not stumbling, nor causing others to stumble. May they/Name live well-pleasing to You Lord, in all of their days, and so be found faithful in the day of Christian judgment.  Fill them/Name with the fruits of righteousness. May they overflow with love, joy, peace, steadfast perseverance, kindness, moral goodness, faith, patience, and self-control (Gal 5:22-23). May they/Name may produce good works, by virtue of who they are in Jesus Christ. By this may Jesus be seen in them and so men would glory and hope in God.

May they/Name know the greatness of Your Power that is working in us by obedient faith. Even the same mighty power, which You wrought in Christ when You raised Him from the dead. May they/Name know and understand You delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of Your dear Son; that You set us together with Him at Your own right hand in the heavenly places; Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come.  Teach them/Name that You have put all things under Christ’s feet, setting Him as the head of the Church, even for our benefit.

I thank You, Father, You have qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of all Christians in light: You are able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to Your power that works in us, Unto You be all glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen
