A complied prayer based upon Paul’s prayers for the Ephesians, Colossians, and Philippians (Eph 1:15-23, Eph 3:13-21, Phipn 1:9-11; Col 1:9-12) . Pray this prayer for yourself, your family, and your church.

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; Bowing my knees [in worship and humiliation] unto the Father. Asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom, and in the knowledge of him: [Give you special insight, wisdom that is not naturally attained, and supernatural enabling to see what you could never see by yourself. Insight into the mysteries and secrets – in the deep and intimate knowledge of the Father]

[I ask ] that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; [ to have comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God, understanding and discerning spiritual things] The eyes of your understanding being enlightened, [flooded with light]; that you may know what is the hope of his calling [invitation, destination], and what [are] the riches of the glory of his inheritance [birthright, all that is contained in the hope on the promises of God] in the saints,

That he would grant you, according to his glorious riches and power, to be strengthened with power, by his Spirit in the inner man; [reinforce our soul/mind with mighty power by the Holy Spirit who indwells your innermost being and personality], and that you would increase in the knowledge of God; unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

That Christ may dwell [abide, make His permanent home] in your hearts by faith; that you being rooted and grounded [founded securely] in love, that your love may abound yet more and more [extending to its fullest development]. May you be able to comprehend [take hold of and make your own the experience of that love], with all saints, what is the breadth [spacious, outstretched without end], and length [extensive], and depth [intensive and consoling], and height [exalted]; of the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled [through all your being] with all the fulness of God [rich in the divine presence, flooded with God Himself].

So that growing in knowledge and in all judgment; [discernment, moral perception, and keen insight], you may approve things that are excellent;[distinguishing the moral differences] that you may be sincere and without offense [untainted and pure, unerring and blameless]; walking worthy ofthe Lord [not stumbling, nor causing others to stumble] unto all pleasing, till [as] the day of Christ [approaches] Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, (GAL 5:22-23) [love, joy, peace, steadfast perseverance, kindness, moral goodness, faith, patience, and self-control that you may produce good works, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. [that His glory may be manifest and recognized]

And [that you may know] what is the exceeding [immeasurable, unlimited, and surpassing] greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought [demonstrated] in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, delivering us from the power of darkness, and translating us into the kingdom of his dear Son, and setting him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And has put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

I thank the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
